Saw this on my Apps and features. Wondering what it is and if its malicious or not. Tried uninstalling it but brings up a window asking if I'll allow the program 'DPInst.exe' made by an Unknown Publisher to make changes on to computer. Identify Your Intel® Graphics Controller. What does LPC stand for?
for what is this interface used?
LPC stand for Low Pin Count - it is the chip used to connect all of the 'legacy' PC components on motherboards. For example it will control the PS/2, floppy, parallel and serial ports.
Before the LPC all of these devices were in the ISA bus and once boards stopped including them ISA slots, they switched to LPC because it was a simplifier interface for the small number of integrated devices they required. It is named becaue it has a lower pin count than ISA.
In 2006, Vernon, then living in North Carolina, was emotionally razed by a perfect storm of shitty turns: his band broke up, his relationship dissolved, he came down with an acute case of mononucleosis. 22, A Million might be musically distant from, the collection of aching folk tunes Vernon debuted in 2007—mostly gone are the acoustic strums, replaced by lurching, electronic gasps born from the Messina, a doctored combination of the Prismizer software plug-in and some hardware that was invented by Vernon and his engineer, Chris Messina. 22, A Million is certainly Bon Iver’s most difficult record; it’s the work of a songwriter who seems to have lost interest in established, easily deciphered forms, a possibility Vernon has been hinting at for nearly all of his career. All things go, taken back into darkness. But the albums share an ideology. 22 a million lyrics.
